Editorial standards

PUG Empire publishes game reviews and streaming guides for players choosing their next game and creators setting up their channels. Recommendations reflect the author's judgment and the community perspective described in each article.

What a review is based on

A hands-on review is identified as such when the author reports direct experience. A research-based review draws on published information, official materials, and linked reporting. Research-based coverage should not be read as a claim that the author completed the game.

The method is displayed beside the article's score. Source links appear at the end of the article; older coverage may have fewer citations. Where a method has not been recorded, the site uses the research-based label conservatively.

Editorial scores and community ratings

Editorial review scores use a ten-point scale. Articles that use our ten-category format award up to one point each for gameplay, visuals, audio, story, replayability, multiplayer, performance, originality, value, and overall enjoyment.

This weighting reflects PUG's interests, including group play. A single-player game can lose points for a feature its intended audience does not need. Read the individual categories and recommendation alongside the total.

Community star ratings are submitted separately by readers. They do not change the author's editorial score and are labeled separately.

Dates, prices, and updates

Game prices, performance, availability, and software interfaces can change. Treat article claims in the context of the publication date. An updated date indicates a substantive revision, not a routine site deployment.

Sources and corrections

Official product pages establish product details; linked reporting provides additional context. A source link does not imply an endorsement by the developer or publisher.
